Back in the late '60's I was very involved with the Civil Air Patrol in air
search and rescue. One morning at first light we were climbing out of Berz
Airport in my friends Beech Musketeer in which I had installed an old Lear
12 ADF recently on the way to a search for a downed fellow birdman. I
turned on the ADF and tuned to WJR. The announcer was reading the news and
stated" The CAP will be sending out search planes at first light to aid in
the search for the downed pilot" I turned to the PIC and said" Hey Don,
they're talking about us!"
It felt good!
