OK -- if y'alls wants ta pursue the NDB thang, there is some handy freeware
available called the World Wide Search Utility or WWSU6.3. Type in the
callsign of the NDB that you are interested in and it spits out all the info
about the station. Yes, anywhere in the world. You can then click on a
button to have it show the distance and direction on an
azimuthal-equidistant projection map. Another handy utility is a map
showing the current auroral oval status.
