Chip,

People do not care that much about technical quality. The large majority of people simply want what they want, when they want it. The listeners are not going to come back to AM simply because it sounds better; that's a fantasy.

There are two ways to get the public to buy into technology. One way is to build the technology into, in this case, all receivers. The other way is to offer a content or convenience that the public cannot get unless they buy the new technology.

We are only kidding ourselves if we believe that the public in significantly large enough numbers, will buy technology simply because we among he engineering community think it sounds better.

We have to offer better content or convenience.
