[BC] Cover Art/Liner Notes

In a previous post I asked about the ability to send Cover Art and
Liner Notes. The one response I got suggested a download time of
about 16 minutes for a 200 x 200 graphic. I don't think that estimate
included the liner notes.

Is anyone aware of this?

There appears to be new technology to do this. Will it require new
transmitting equipment or is it a software/firmware upgrade?

Are any automation systems capable of adding this information to each
song? If there are, are any stations including this data? If they
are, I'd assume it's for their Internet streams. One Internet-only
service I was involved with used an Enco system and output the data
via a serial port. It was title and artist only. The service
provider, as I recall, took the data and added cover art using a
proprietary player.

For personal use I use cataloging software that queries several
external databases and provides a large amount of data, particularly
for movies. For CDs it reads the disc code. For DVDs and Blu-Ray I
type in the title in a queue, then search. In most cases every
release in every region comes up. I then select the version I have
and it adds the information to my database.

So far, I haven't seen any station streams that include it, Pandora-style.
