If on an antenna, remember to set your TV to "antenna" instead of cable before you rescan! You have to do the opposite and then rescan when switching back to cable. I have both and outside antenna and cable on a switch. I can make quite a mess if I forget the first step!

I rescanned mine. It did NOT erase the old useless UHF channels and 
they will NOT delete. Sheesh. For channel 4 I have to just key in 36 
now, etc. The menu won't let me do anything but add.  There is a delete 
but it only deletes ACTIVE channels.
