The E skip hasn't made up here yet, but I did have some trouble today
at noon when WPVI moved the digital signal from 64 to 6. For several
years, I've noticed some slight "herringbone" in the Channel 6 analog
picture (apparently RFI from one of my computers) but this wasn't an
issue because I've been watching the interim DTV at 64.

When I tried rescanning this afternoon, none of the sets or converters
could find the digital due to the interference. This may be a
problem for other low-band DTV stations; the background noise level in
2-6 is significantly higher than at high band or UHF.

After a few attempts at repositioning the attic yagi antenna away from
the source of interference, I was able to make it work, but I'm
waiting to see how it holds during thunderstorms. Every other local
station was received with no problem on the first attempt -- in fact,
some are indicating much higher signal quality than before the
transition.
