Maybe this is a bit too basic but the one piece of advice I would offer very strongly is to make sure you send a mix-minus feed on the return to talent....NOT a full mix or "Program" output.

There is nothing more disconcerting or disruptive for talent than to hear their own voice coming back on the circuit delayed by a second or so.  (Assuming about a half second delay inbound to the studio and then multiplied by a factor of two when it comes back on the return.)

Send your remote talent everything BUT themselves.  They can do an on-site mix with local and return audio for headphones, monitor, PA, etc.
