Alltel will be taken over by Verizon later this year. There may be local exceptions dictated by the FEd's. Verizon is CDMA, as is Alltel. My understanding is that ATT uses GSM. Have noticed that my Sine does not like my ATT phone very well, either. Nothing to do with signal, appears to be the "purity" of the tones.
