Maybe so, but the article in American Heritage magazine noted that the
instruments on their albums, the Beach Boys, etc., etc., were all done by
Hal Blaine's "Wrecking Crew."  Sorry, boys and girls, but there was no such
group as "The Tijuana Brass."  Herb Alpert just called up the Wrecking Crew
when he wanted to cut a new album.  Glen Campbell was on the Crew before
(and after) he started his career as a singer.  Of course, there were also
the "Nashville Cats" a/k/a "The A Team."  Good studio musicians could play
any genre -- just throw a chart at them and they run with it.
