Having visited California several times, I can think of
a few good things (in no particular order):
Hollywood. Great movies & TV shows.
Haight/Ashbury: The birth and death of the hippie movement.
Venice Beach: Enough said.
Golden Gate Bridge: A historic landmark.
Napa Valley: Wine country.
Hotel California: Please bring me my wine.
The Grateful Dead, Pablo Cruise, Mrs. Miller: Plus many others.
LAX: Susan Raye recorded a song about L.A. International Airport.
San Francisco: Ricearoni and wear some flowers in your hair.
