Simple! Some people prefer the 'tube sound'. There is a great
deal of new tube audio gear being manufactured today and it
is very expensive. The solid state transmitter does not have tilt
or overshoot on clipped audio that its modulation transformer/
modulation reactor tube counterpart has. By feeding the
modulated carrier from the SS tx into the tube tx you realize
higher power (2 kW) with clean audio.
