[BC] Translator "interference"

I read comments like this and the NAB wants the FCC to give AM stations
authorization to use FM translators? Come on, give me a break! It will
never happen! There are too many lawyers, engineers, and AM Purist that
will push stop this, even if the FCC even considers this.

I've said this, and I've said this before, the FM band is too crowded,
even in the rural areas, and the commission has way too many translator
applications from the last translator window that the commission hasn't
even touch, from organizations like the Educational Media Foundation,
(whom from what I understand is "behind the curtain", a religious
broadcaster). Is appears like they filed in every city in the US, trying
to get as many translators as they can.

It was nice for us AM stations to file comments on the commissions web
site, telling them our feelings for wanting a translator, but the rules
won't be fair and stations like mine and Willie's wouldn't get on
anyway!

Looks like Part 74 is a mess like the rest of their rules.

I think that the point here is the egregious abuse that's going on...
they
already have an ~20 watt x-lator in this city, and now they propose one
just
over the town line, about a mile away, running 100 watts? (Both their
main &
full-power repeater stations are full quieting on a portable.) How
can I encourage
others to file complaints, and *not* make it look like some kind of
"conspiracy"? Because it will be on the 1'st adjacent of the desired
station, there is
little doubt that it is going to cause significant interference to them
in
this area.

Based on what you're saying, even though we're *just* outside the
station's
"protected contour", there *is* a chance we could get something done
once they
light this thing up?

Willie...
