>Some companies have do not RE Hire lists.

ALL companies have "do not rehire" lists, or a "check box" on a
terminating employee's records which may be reflected in a consolidated
"do not rehire" list.

However, another "hiring manager" could choose to ignore that
designation, at his own professional risk within that company.

In general, if you DO attempt to rehire into a "do not rehire" situation,
it is best not to rehire into the same division.

IOW, it is best to rehire into a division where you are not in the chain
of command of the former manager, the one who designated you "do not
rehire".

And, ALL companies have a designation "resigned to avoid termination", or
its functional equivalent, as a designation which is distinct from
"resigned voluntarily" (quit; terminated without prejudice) and "resigned
involuntarily" (fired for cause; terminated with prejudice).

This is kind of like pleading "no contest", which is the same as pleading
guilty, except that this is designated at the employer's sole option.

You think they are being magnanimous by letting you terminate under what
you believe to be favorable circumstances, but it is almost the same as
being fired.

When a future prospective employer fact-checks your application, it is
possible that you may be caught in a lie if your application states
"resigned to accept a better opportunity", whereas your former employer
can, and possibly will state your true reason for leaving: "resigned to
avoid being fired for cause".
