WSDM-FM was owned by Chess (and perhaps Sonderling?) during the '70s and 
operated at 97.9 being "Smack Dab in the Middle" of the FM band.   For a 
time, they used all female jocks and in the late '70s, WSDM morphed into 
WLUP-FM.  Chicago had some great FM radio formats during this era.
