[BC] Building an audience

I imagine that in seeing the success of Rush, the networks were actively 
looking for
further "talent" to develop to extend the air time (and hence advertising 
revenue).

Could it be safely said that if Rush didn't create the clamor, the others 
would not have made it to where they are now?
