[BC] (Off-Topic) Audiovault help needed....

Don't mean to sound obvious, but have you double-triple checked your
network wiring, terminations, and networking gear? I found AV2 rabidly
intolerant of even the slightest network burp, especially as compared to
non-AV office PCs on networks. Just my opinion here, but it seems to me
that because office PC networks are relatively tolerant of short
duration network dropouts, network wiring installers aren't always as
careful and deliberate as you need to be when pulling wire & terminating
for an AV network (you need someone who is anal about
installing/terminating). Like you, we got lockups (servers or
workstations or some/all of the above), and BE always but ALWAYS said
"network" first. I'd reterminate (with a good reasonably new crimper
not an old or cheap $12 one, with RJ45s made for that crimper) or rerun
new wire if I had even the slightest doubt (in my case, knowing that
somebody other than me installed the network wiring was enough to
provide that "slightest doubt"). You don't even have to remove the old
wire yet - just try it for a while on the new wire/router and see if the
problem goes away.

Brand new AV2 system is locking up at random intervals. We have spent
hours going through everything in the system--BE sent a new ONAIR
machine,
up and running yesterday, locked up this morning at 1:20am. Anybody
else
having issues with AV2?

Regarding the list-too much BS and not enough engineering. BTW, Matt

with
his assessment of what has happened to the discussions on this forum.
Look
at the archives and you'll see much less politics and much more
engineering,
which is why I joined.
