I have also worked for large market and several medium market stations  with 
a Mr. Carlson manager.  The office manager ran the place.  Only  on ocassion 
did the General Manager run things.  I have had a few run ins  with "jennifer"  
office managers that knew nothing about engineering.   Most of the were not 
at all attractive.  I believe I may have been more  responsive to Jennifers 
smile. One of these office managers ended up as an  administrative assistant to a 
major group owner.  I iunderstand she did  very well in the consolidation of 
their group.
 
I used to contract with a small market station whose owner/general  Manager  
allowed his inexperienced daughter run the station.  It took  about five years 
of losses and dissatisfaction amoung employees and clients  before daddy 
pulled the plug.
