In the Michael B. Kassel book "America's Favorite Radio Station - WKRP
in Cincinnati" (copyright 1993 by Bowling Green State University Popular
Press) series Creator and Executive Producer Hugh Wilson is quoted as
saying that most of the WKRP staff was built around people he observed
or knew at WQXI AM/FM in Atlanta. For example, according to the book,
Dr. Johnny Fever was based on Skinny Bobby Harper who eventually moved
from WQXI to WSB where he was a very successful DJ.
