Allow a short story, please. Not long ago in Las Vegas, an exclusive
residential development had what was believed to be the strongest
anti-ham/cb/antenna restrictive covenant every written. In part it said
that ANY transmitter of ANY type was prohibited. Period. All was well
until a lawyer who lived in the development attended a neighborhood
association meeting and asked why the covenant was not being enforced.
He noted the rule would prohibit those evil ham radios and CB's. but
also would outlaw garage door openers, microwave ovens, tv remote
controls, wireless mice and keyboards, wireless speakers, even
resident's cellphones. Needless to say, the covenant was revised to
exclude household appliances and "convenience items".
