[EAS] IPAWS connectivity / EAS NPRM

IPAWS did send out a connectivity interruption advisory around 10:00 AM ET yesterday. The problem was soon resolved.

Y'all should be receiving those emails if you are on the IPAWS list. (I managed the mailing lists when I was at FEMA.) If you're not getting those I advise contacting the IPAWS Office.

There is, or was, a list intended for broadcast stations and contained RWT reports.

But if you want outage notices I recommend joining another list which is for general IPAWS announcements.

This list does not, however, include material specifically for those who have written agreements with FEMA for access to IPAWS for sending alerts. That is yet another list for which most broadcasters would not qualify.

Since I departed from IPAWS in March 2024 there may have been changes to these lists.

As to the EAS Notice of Proposed Rulemaking: Despite the name, it does not actually propose any rules. It is what used to be called a Notice of Inquiry, but that name fell out of favor some years ago.
