It never ceases to amaze me how many times, we engineers, give advice from many years of experience and expertise, to only have the kind of response you got, Bill.
In 43 years of doing this, I have seen it more often than not.
We just keep trying to help.

Several LPFM groups that I have encountered have little or no idea of what effort is necessary to support a radio station, LPFM or Class C FM or whatever.
When San Francisco Community Radio started their LPFM process I told them (and I was on the board at the time) that I can assemble a radio station in a couple of days but keeping the station on the air 24x7 is a lot of work and you guys need to get your act together.
I was told that I was being too negative.
Guess what?
When KXSF-LP was granted I put together a control room and transmitter and then watched them flail about until they got it together.
Not all LPFM groups have an experienced (but negative !) advisor.
