[EAS] FEMA and SiriusXM Expand Relationship to Enhance Delivery, of Emergency Alerts

Have been following this thread for a while and not saying anything, but
since I used to be the Engineering Manager at SXM and familiar with the way
their SAGE EAS box was set up, I'm a little perplexed what SXM gets a
station monitoring not near the DC market. Now granted it's been a couple
years, but all that SXM has out of D.C. is a single SAGE box monitoring the
local LP1 WTOP-FM and IPAWS. Seems to me another station couldn't validly
use SXM, certainly not counting as a replacement for their local PEP.
Best,

Delivery, of Emergency Alerts
I'd settle for them adjusting the EAS audio to be consistent with the
preview programming. Last I checked, they were off noticeably. And I'd
love them to include a voice message as part of the RWT. That being
said, at least they are sending RWTs which is much appreciated. They
are still my favorite alternative to a "local" PEP (mostly not
receivable in my state) since they aren't dependent on a local affiliate
existing and being receivable, which is a significant issue in our large
but lightly populated state with lots of terrain issues.
