In other words, consumer weather radios.
Currently, by Public Alert standards such as CTA-2009-B,Performance
Criteria for Public Alert Receivers, there are three alert lights on the
radio labeled Watch, Warning, and Advisory. The National Weather Service,
as part of its HazSimp hazard message simplification program, will
simplify the current Watch Warning Advisory (WWA) hierarchy of alert
messages to get rid of the Advisory category. CTA's Intelligent Mobility
Committee has established a new working group to consider how this
upcoming change should be reflected in CTA-2009, including the possibility
of relabeling the Advisory light on public alert receivers.
