[EAS] NWS Alerts and messaging

I subscribe to the APCO forum.  Mostly dispatch related staffing, etc. 
But this one I had to put in my 1 1/2 cents worth.

P.S.  I've seen what a tornado can do and I'd rather wait for the next 
earthquake.   Same with hurricanes.

Outdoor Warning Sirens (Tornado sirens) RPF

We are in need of replacing our aging OWS system for the entire city. 
Does anyone have an RFP or specs they could share from their upgrade or 
project?  Looking for any information you are willing to share.  Please

I don't have any useful information for your warning system but I want
to point out that the NWS through both broadcast EAS and cell phones are
now doing a very good job warning population about weather emergencies.

I recommend along with fixing your sirens checking with you local EAS
committee and your local NWS to be sure that the word is getting out.
