[EAS] NWS Alerts and messaging

I experienced the exact opposite with WEA last night. As I was pulling into the parking lot of a big box store, a local station forwarded a tornado warning indicating a sighted tornado on the ground 20 miles to the north, in the next county.

At the same time, WEA went off, indicating a tornado "in this area". Upon walking into the big box store, it was full of people, but eerily quiet, as everyone was staring at their phones, probably trying to find out exactly where "in this area" meant, and swamping out phone internet service at the same time.

Call me a radical if you must, but a tornado that's 20 miles away and never coming our way is not "in this area". (Tornados never travel to the south in this part of the country.)

Score: Radio 1, WEA 0

Part of the problem is that the NWS is "pinpointing" their severe weather forecasts.
