I recently had the router at the transmitter fail. I was able to bypass it
with patch cords and then repair it without worrying about affecting the
audio. I will try to include a picture. It took six patch cords to give us
our PPM, FM, HD1, HD2 and a backup source patched. Having both a router and
a patch bay is very handy.
Gotta Love it when 'Old Technology' rescues Newer Technology.
Here's another story, or two, along the same lines -
I recently had a failure at a multiple transmitter site with an Burk
ARC-Plus Touch - Turned out the Switch that ties all those boxes together
died rendering the system useless.
Same location - The POTS that fed the ARC+T died.
Solution - Brought back a trusty ARC-16 for POTS Duty. Provided a channel
for each of the transmitters - in parallel with the fancy newer stuff.
Then I had the same ARC+T go stupid - Would not respond to its POTS input or
to network commands until it was power cycled.
Solution built a simple AC Power Cycle device and connect it to one of the
channels on the same ARC-16.
Older Technology to the rescue !!!
