[EAS] Public Warnings

Hindsight suggestions on my part:
Maybe get the livestock out before it comes down to having only minutes to get yourself out?
Battery backup for the GDO?
Every time the power goes out at my house, I tell myself that I should get a generator. Then when the power comes back on, it's no longer a priority.
I get it. It's human nature. I'm just as guilty as the next guy. Only difference is that I don't whine about it and try to blame the next guy.
I am always amazed at the level of distrust that people have in government officials when it comes to such trivial matters like revealing their tax returns. But when it comes to our lives, we put our full faith in them to save us.
Not entirely our fault though. The gov't entities make a big deal about the warning systems they have in place, and remind us of it weekly. And we trust those warning systems, but mainly because most of us don't understand why we shouldn't trust them.
