[EAS] NEW FEMA CAP EAS Training Program!

The FEMA IPAWS office has a new training program. What I like about it is
that they are making it mandatory for everyone with a COG. Users will train
on a special demonstration platform to keep the test messages away from the
Real World but still allow them to send test messages on a regular schedule.
This is something many EAS Chairs have not been able to do!  

 

Dear Public Safety and Emergency Management Professionals,

October 1, 2019, IPAWS will implement the Mandatory Monthly Proficiency
Demonstration

requirement for all IPAWS users. In accordance with IPAWS MOA v4.2
(Memorandum of

Agreement), each enabled COG operating under an IPAWS agreement must
demonstrate

their ability to compose and send a message through the IPAWS-OPEN system at
regular

intervals. Such demonstration must be performed monthly through generation
of a

successful message sent through the IPAWS-OPEN Training and Demonstration

environment (IPAWS LAB Cloud).
