The heat is on here in Chicago.  When a tornado warning is issued for any
of the ADI counties or those to the southwest, it's 100% on the Fox, NBC
and ABC O&O's. All three have their own dopplar radars and two are Baron
dual pol with nearly the same resolution and products as the NWS radar.
The CBS and Trib stations use NWS radar only and don't do anywhere near as
good of a job focusing on the hots spots.

In fact, on the precursor to the Dyer, IN. twister, the ABC station radar
showed the rotating core better than the subscribed NWS radar feed.

As for Mr. Levine's rant, he's got my vote.... the public is so clueless
to the point of abject ignorance, not honest ignorance.
