DIRECTV has fixed its EAS audio -- finally.

After years of audio getting worse and worse, and sometimes completely
unintelligible audio; it sounds like DIRECTV replaced or re-tuned its EAS
receivers. As a EAS satellite participant, DIRECTV can choose any EAS
local area in the country to monitor and re-broadcasts monthly EAS tests.
DIRECTV uses Los Angeles as the audio source for its EAS tests nationwide.

While its not uncommon for EAS participants to have crappy audio, DIRECTV
has 19.2 million subscribers nationwide; so its audio problems were
magnified by its large scale.

I don't know who at DIRECTV is responsible for fixing it... Thank you.
And tell your boss, yes people did notice when you fix things.

EAS audio doesn't have to sound bad.
