Agreed.
I said in an earlier post that when I travel, I rarely know which county I
am located until I actually look it up somewhere. Usually when I reach the
hotel when I do a Google search of the town for eats and resources.
Fixed spotting OTOH uses well defined locations more often than not vetted
by someone with great knowledge of the area.
The challenge is spotting while on the move and knowing your location with
enough detail that a call to the local WFO is sufficiently consequential.
I guess a question I have is whether the WFO is capable of accepting
LAT/LON to the second (as opposed to decimal) for a location of occurrence
or observance?
