I, too, find this story bewildering!
I do too. What has not been stated is the source of the CO2.
Many assume that it was related to a Generator -
Could it have been they were using a Kerosene etc Space Heater (Known to be
deadly) ?
I look after several transmitter sites in the Seattle area (at much lower
elevations)
That have indoor installed Generator ranging from 250 to 500Kw. In each
case
They are using internal radiators that are moving a significant amount of
air..Such
That breathing 'bad-stuff' is pretty much impossible.

OK, so it's winter at a mountain site. Maybe they had the door closed just
to stay as warm as possible, but how long had they been there?
Were they stranded due to weather conditions or vehicle failure, waiting for
rescue?
Also, maybe one of them would've started showing signs of CO poisoning
before the other?
Most of our sites are very small, cramped shacks with plenty of "natural"
ventilation and we're usually in & out of the building so much that the door
is open a lot.
I've been in some of those prefab cell site buildings, though, that are
pretty nice inside.

Seems to me that only part of the story has been discovered. Why and how
did these two well trained professionals die?
Where's Barnaby Jones?
