[EAS] last minute reminders about the national EAS test (DASDEC users)

Quick reminders on the national EAS test.  We are getting a flood of last
minute phone calls and emails about the test, so we thought it would be
useful to provide a quick FAQ for DASDEC users:

 

1 - the NPT code is automatically pre-configured in your DASDEC, if you are
using v3.0 or above.  You do not need to do anything.  If you are running
version 2.x, please refer to the application note on how to activate the
event code:

2 - The national 000000 FIPS code is also automatically set and
pre-configured in your DASDEC for the NPT, if you are using v3.0 or above.

3 - if you have not updated your digital certificate file since 4 September
2018, please just go to our website here
https://www.digitalalertsystems.com/resources_fsb.html .   You will find
both a field service bulletin and the updated certificate file at that
location.

 

4 - you do not need to do a full software update for a digital certificate
(if you are running 3.0 or higher).  It is just a small certificate file
that is uploaded, as described in the field service bulletin.  

 

5 - The test is being sent via CAP, so updating the digital certificate
files is essential if the option to inspect digital certificate validation
has been enabled on your DASDEC.
