Monitoring assignments are established by State EAS Plans (subject to
waivers granted by the FCC PSHSB).

The potential national sources for the national EAN are

1. Primary Entry Point System stations (RWTs and RMTs)
2. National Public Radio Squawk Channel (RWTs only, no audio levels)
3. Premiere Networks XDS FEMA Channel (no routine EAS tests)
4. SiriusXM Preview Channels (RMTs and RWTs, Washington DC FIPS)

As Mr. Timm points out, only Nebraska SECC included SiriusXM in its
state monitoring plan. Other state EAS plans include NPR and/or Premiere
Networks as national sources, along with terrestrial PEP broadcast
stations.

Satellite monitoring sources do not include state, local or weather
EAS messages. They also do not include coordinated state or local
monthly tests.
