Rich - 

You'd think that after the Hawaii FIASCO that these folks would be walking
on egg shells and erroring the side of caution.

I keep going back to the reason no-one mistakenly launched an ICBM to light
off WWIII - a process that required that there was agreement in the steps to
pushing the button.    History has proved  a couple of things- 
1) We all make mistakes - 2) The more cross and double checking that takes
place the fewer the mistakes.

Then there is - 

Good things (Usually) come from bad things taking place.   Or, the 'school
of hard knocks' has a very high success rate.

Yeah, judging from the 'crickets' about this on the list, I'm going to
assume it was limited to Alaska's EAS systems - but it certainly was
'exciting' for stations and listeners, coming at 7am AKDT when folks
were getting ready for work.....

Should be a very interesting 'after action' report.
