Art - yes, I was just now reading this - that screen shot shows
perhaps one of the most poorly designed UI (user interfaces) I have
ever seen. Given that crazy sorting (or not sorting), bad
nomenclature and the like, I find it extremely unlikely that having a
'second person' in the room to 'confirm' an alert would make very much
difference.
The entire UX is confusing, and absent a complete rethinking of how
they display this, this can easily happen again. What is interesting
in the article is the 'display' of the current AlertSense screen,
which looks quite neat and orderly - and there have been a number of
(granted unofficial) reports that AlertSense is what is used in HI -
maybe it is an old DOS version, running on a 386DX ;)
