        Well, that would add something that can be
        lost. An SPDT, or better stated "NO pushbutton
        or spring switch"  (NO: normally open) would
        require someone to push (perhaps after lifting
        the cover) a button while clicking.  Not too
        much, and failure to push would simply prevent
        any hot (non-DMO) alert from going out. 

        (of course, you would need a flashing red
        alert saying "remember to push the button"
        if they tried to send an alert without doing so.)

        RWT, RMT, EAN, NPT all exempted.
