[EAS] DIRS event

My two cents worth:

Broadcasting has been identified as a part of the county's critical infrastructure.

DIRS is a service that can potentially get you back on the air or keep you on the air during a major emergency when normal supply lines are not available.

DIRS was one of the action items instituted after stations had trouble getting fuel during Hurricane Katrina.

Yes, participation in DIRS is voluntary.

I look at DIRS as a service to all parts of the critical infrastructure (including broadcasting) during major emergencies.
