Another article on WEA messages and public warnings in general, better
written than most. However, after reading the interviews, you still have to
wonder what these fire survivors would have wanted as an adequate warning
message. None of them appeared to be prepared at all for the evacuation
process, something that should be second-nature to California residents
after years of devastating fires.

And even after all these fires, there's still no effort by state and local
officials to educate the public on preparing their homes and neighbourhoods
for wildland fire survival. The state puts a lot of money and effort into
earthquake safety and education, but they ignore the fact that more people
have died this year from fires than earthquakes...
