A big problem with Apple's responses is that they are not being as
forthcoming as they should on their own products (some may indeed have FM
chips, some not. Some may have antenna links though internally not
connected; some may not).
Problem with the other side - it's not so simple with Apple - as above, the
status of their FM chips is all over the place. Also, Apple is absolutely
manic about power drains on its product - which is likely one reason their
engineers have not allowed connection of the FM chips. FM chips may be
physically present, but it may be far beyond just a matter of software to
enable them in some (many??) Apple products.
And, for current/future Apple iPhones, there is not even an antenna jack
anyway. Making this kind of a moot point going forward.
