[EAS] [BC] What's the point of LP-1s anymore?

I had a candid conversation today with a well placed person within a
private wireless system manufacturer and integrator who has taken a
battering by the cell companies about their up-time compared to the cell
companies. And wrongfully I might add. These systems are mandated to have
hardened facilities both power and structure. The cell companies have
claimed these sites were down, but didn't cite a reason. Why?

Quite simply, the cellular/common carrier people could not maintain
connectivity to these hardened sites. While these sites maintained their
inter-site signals and connectivity during Maria in PR as well as Irma in
south FLA, the cellular/common carriers failed in their SLA mandate and
are trying to deflect blame. Well..watch the trades for a fairly
extensive counter punch which the cell/common carriers will have a hard
time explaining away.
