Good point. SOMEONE should have caught this prior to air, or at least the first time it aired.

Maybe this explains why, when I took my first job in broadcasting, I had to read and sign this elaborate document about double billing commercial time. This document covered the subject of double billing in excruciating minutae. And, I had to do this as an engineer, with no connection to on-air operations, traffic, sales or accounting. The fact that I remember this some 33 years later shows how strange this was. I have never had to read/sign anything else like it in all those intervening years. So perhaps they were caught doing double billing and this was their response. (Ringing a doorbell with an ICBM!)

It's not like only one person was responsible for this violation. Someone wrote the commercial to include the EAS tones. Someone produced the commercial with the EAS tones....
