Yeah, buying a $50 NAT router and changing the default passwords is such a
burdensome thing to do!
It all depends on a couple of major factors -
1- How ignorant of these matters the station is.
2- Whether the ownership/management will let their technical people purchase
anything
3- Whether 'expensive' begins at $1.98
4- Whether or not they feel the risk is not worth the cost
5- Whether or not they have ANYONE on staff that can do the work
6- If it requires spending money to hire someone to do the work
We need to understand just how slim many of these stations operate. We
have, today, way too many radio stations for the audience that remains.
This is especially critical if the station is an AM. Many of these
operations are operating on a shoestring being held together with borrowed
bailing wire and duct-tape.
