Friends,

Apologies if this is unacceptable topic drift, but I just became aware of the RadioDNS (radiodns.org) project in the course of my ongoing scan for potential vehicles for Early Earthquake Warning delivery in California. (Thanks for the pointer go to my old friend Rich Rarey, late of NPR Labs.)

The concept appears to be that Internet-equipped desktop and mobile radios will be able to retrieve additional online content for the station they're tuned to. An industry contact tells me that 250 U.S. stations are now registered with Radio DNS... many more in Europe.

So, as my window into the broadcast world, let me pose a couple of questions: Are you using or looking into Radio DNS? And has anyone started looking into potential public alert and warning applications of this technology?
