Clay -
Minnesota is an example of how another state has evolved their SECC into
something more.
The Minnesota IPAWS Committee has the role of advising the Statewide
Emergency Communications Board and coordinating policies and procedures to
expand IPAWS (through private and public partnerships). This past May, the
state IPAWS Committee was taken under the wing of the Emergency
Communication Networks division of the Minnesota Department of Public
Safety.
The IPAWS Committee was created to replace the SECC, and re-wrote the MN
state EAS plan back in 2014. They have excellent participation form across
private and public sectors, including the Minnesota Broadcasters
Association, the MN Cable Communications Association, National Weather
Service, MNDOT, Public Safety, Minnesota Emergency Management, broadcasters
and other interests are all represented in the IPAWS Committee. They meet
very regularly,

Thanks for the notes of support -
We here in WaState are seriously thinking of changing the name of SECC to
something more consistent with what we do.
There are many public warning 'tools in the tool box' for Emergency
Managers - EAS is just one of them- Well deal with the others as well.
With that being said, I'm sure there are those SECC's that deal with only
EAS and nothing more-
Carry on -
