What would be nice is if an EAS box could output certain alerts either via gpo or a TCP protocol to the automation system. That way certain 'optional' alerts could be pre-recorded in the automation system and run either in stop sets or between songs without all the duck farts and bad audio. That in turn would make it more palatable for stations to air more events. The daisy chain is not needed for local events.

If the event is serious enough to warrant using either of these systems, then use an event code/scenario that matches something the public has already experienced. The use of vanity alerts (I like that term!) only weakens EAS and WEA.
