I know of a station who has changed what used to be Chief Engineer to Director or Technology or some such thing.
That position is held currently by one of the station's former field reporters.
I can't speak to his technical skills, but I'm guessing he is also the DCO as he keeps after me if he doesn't receive an RWT from us.
So points in his favor for that.
