Broadcasters are not required to cover any breaking news or carry
any EAS alerts beyond an EAN and tests.  Around Washington, DC it seems
that less than 30% (based on random sampling, not complete logging of
all stations) of the over-the-air stations carry "optional" EAS alerts.
Maybe its different in your area.

What do you believe the wireless industry should be required to do that
broadcasters are required?  There are a lot of optional options.
