Responding to Sean's comments on the Sage 1833 -
There are a lot of good applications for this older model -
> At the recent Washington State Yakima OpArea LECC Meeting I recommended
connecting it to receivers tuned to selected sources (same as typical
monitor assignments) and then connect the output to a display sign - In
their EOC this would provide them with a visual state of EAS display.
> Same thing could be done at a broadcast station as a means of verification
of EAS transmissions.
> Put them ahead of remote relay network systems as store and forward
devices for SAME based EAS systems.
> In one instance I know of - One is installed ahead of a NWR transmitter to
enable that 162.xx transmitter to be a part of a local EAS system.
There are a lot of uses for these devices....DON'T THROW THEM OUT.
The only thing they won't do -
> Provide any indication of what's happening with Internet based systems.
> Be compliant with areas that are using newer Event Codes
