I for one enjoy a good rant now and again and this was a doozy.

George,

I understand you position and your frustrations and I have never owned a broadcast station.
You are in the same boat as the small town family owned store that cannot compete with the big box discount giant that just opened up on the edge of town.

That being said, as an engineer, I do not appreciate it when a station manager blows up at me for informing him what he must do to comply with the regulations, no matter how burdensome. He is paying me to do a job that does not generate income and often costs money that does nothing to improve the station or even help keep it on the air. It is OK, in opinion, to vent your frustrations here. I just hope you are not doing that to the guy you count on to put the station back on the air in the wee hours.

I would suggest that you consider directing some of that energy towards those who are making it so difficult for a small station to compete these days.
